Alcatraz

With a little more choice of accommodation than your average hostel, Alcatraz can offer a choice of dormitory sleeping, private doubles with king size bed, or even an apartment with three rooms that sleeps up to six and includes a private kitchen and TV. The prices, however, are well within hostel standards, and there are a fair few freebies thrown in too - such as table football, computers, a self-catering kitchen and lockers (breakfast though does cost a little extra). The Prenzlauer location of Alcatraz means it offers easy access to the best of the city, making it a base from which to explore as well as a place to rest after a wearing day of sightseeing and partying.
