There is something almost sensually satisfying about flicking through rack after rack of cardboard and vinyl, buying music the way it was before Simon Cowell told us who we liked and we didn't have to think about it or look for it any more. Not that Vopo Records has a strict vinyl-only policy, they do CDs too. In either format there's plenty there to keep musos of a punk, garage, hardcore or metal persuasion happy for quite some time, and there's a very good chance that you will find something that makes you go 'oh my!' Even if it only makes you go 'hm, maybe,' the staff don't mind you listening to a track or two before you make up your mind. The store celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2011, so expect some special events.
