Berlin Wall Christmas Trees

It's been 18 years since Germany reunified. And it's been a good time not only for the society, but also for several thousands of beautiful pine trees, which have been growing in a part of Berlin Wall called "the death strip". The strip was used as a shooting zone by East German border guards and due to that it was kept as a bare land with no vegetation.

The trees created life, where there was only blood and death. There are now thousands of them and, according to the city's forestry agency, the time has come to thin them out a bit. That'ss why, on 20 December, you'll be able to buy your own Berlin-Wall-Christmas-Tree for just 10 euros. And it won't be an ordinary tree - it'll be a Christmas Tree that's literally rooted in history.
