86-Year-Old Gymnast Is Internet Hit
Hobby gymnast Johanna Quaas, 86, received a standing ovation after her display of strength, agility, and grace during a break at the 2012 Cottbus Challenger Cup gymnastics competition.
She performed a floor routine with a cartwheel, handstand forward roll, backward roll, and headstand, a performance which was recorded and uploaded to YouTube. The video has already gained well over 1 million hits. The crowd was visibly impressed in another part of her performance when Quass performed a full planche at the bars.
With virtually no competition in her age group of 85-90, Quass now performs just for fun.
