Sophieneck

An eck is a traditional old German corner pub. A Sophien-eck is an eck located on the corner of Sophien Street (...and Grosse Hamburger Strasse, in case you were wondering about the address!). All a bit unimaginative, but there you go. Generally ecks are dark, grotty dives populated by dour, drunken locals and purposely visiting one would make about as much sense as visiting London and ending up in the Binge & Vomit on Beckenham High Street. However this particular eck is cosy and friendly and worth stepping into for a hearty pub lunch or dinner. Regular menu changes keep you on your toes.

Superb place where I've celebrated my 40st birthday with a group of 16 friends. Perfect service, perfect food, perfect drinks!!

eaten at the Sophieneck with both family and friends. On all occaisions the food has been perfect, the portions are on the large side so I would suggest just having a main meal on your first visit

It was recommended to me by a friend and because I know what type of place that might be I was a bit scared :) But all in all it was great, the atmosphere was pretty cool, good beer!

After 3 days in Berlin, it was the first restaurant where atmosphere and food were really good...Small prices as well...To be recommended
