Occupying the building of an erstwhile brewery from the 19th century, Maxwell deserves to be visited by anyone who likes a bit of character with their cuisine. The abundance of windows allows plenty of light to flow in, which is then reflected from mirrored walls to ensure that Maxwell's interior is far from the dark and stifling offering of many other respected restaurants. During summer it is possible to dine al fresco in the attractive courtyard, and suitors looking to impress their ladies may want to reserve a table ahead of time. The excellent European menu is complimented by an extensive wine list, including a number of fine champagnes for special occasions.
