Deponie No. 3

Deponie No. 3 is Deutsch for Deposit no. 3, and is so-called because this bar used to be a tank depo for the Nationale Volksarmee. Lucky then that it wasn't Deponie No. 2 because that would have been a fairly crappy name! (Crappy, deposit number 2... Get it? Oh, never mind!). Poor scatological jokes aside, this is a lively and fun pub with regular live music (of the jazzy, piano-blues variety), a nice beer garden and a fine selection of ales. The rumble of trains from the S-Bahn overhead adds character/jilts the nerves, depending on your frame of mind. Overall Deponie is a good starting place for a bite and a few bevvies before the real carnage begins.
