Dicke Wirtin

There's been a pub on this site for as long as most people can remember, and there are plenty who remember great nights of beer, laughter and Berlin hospitality behind its doors. It was once the domain of Anna Stancheck, the fat landlady (Dicke Wirtin) renowned for her warm welcome for one and all, as much as for her well-stocked beer cellar. She was especially fond of the down and outs, the struggling artists, and the odd kids in general - and that ethos still stands; so don't be afraid to drop by looking like you've been on the road for months on end - this is one place where you will be positively welcomed.
