Beer of the Month is always, always a good idea, so the cafe bar Beakers wins plenty of brownie points for its changing recommendations in this department. And that's even before the scoring starts for such delights as breakfast, cake and live music. Another of Beakers' strong points is attention to detail, particularly on the food front. It's always prepared fresh, using the best available ingredients. This Prenzlauer venue does indeed offer an eclectic mix, which would not necessarily work elsewhere - or at least outside continental Europe. It works very much in its favour, though, because it brings a good mix of people through the door on both exploratory and return visits.
