The fact that A-Trane is always busy is one testament to its reputation as a hang-out for Berlin’s cool set. Another is that it attracts not just large numbers of discerning punters, but also top live international acts.
In fact, live music is one of the mainstays of A-Trane’s reputation, and it runs a rotating programme of guest performers each week. Perhaps the best night for a one-off performance at this venue is Saturday. Although the evening’s jam session doesn’t start until gone midnight, A-Trane’s popularity means it is as well to get there early and soak up the atmosphere in order to bag a good spot and avoid being the one that was left on the doorstep peering into the party.
