DHM

The DHM (which stands for Deutsches Historisches Museum or 'German Historical Museum') is comprised of two separate halves. Find the bigger 'half' in the baroque Zeughaus, the old Arsenal building on the Unter der Linden. This forms the Musuem's permanent exhibition, an ambitious attempt to chronicle the epochs of German history, from ancient times up to the present. Meanwhile this new wing of the DHM, designed by the architect I.M. Pei (the man responsible for the East Wing of the National Gallery in Washington D.C. and the glass pyramid at the Louvre in Paris) displays a number of thought-provoking temporary exhibitions, usually themed around the events of WWII. Both halves are essential calling points for history buffs.

"was impressed with the temporary exhibition here, dealing with the holocaust in a way that was factual and not sensationalised. The building is pretty cool, and your photos is awesome - where did you get it?"
