Altes Museum

|
The name means Old Museum, and it's a fitting title as this is indeed the oldest in Berlin. It was completed in 1830, in order to house the German capital's art collections.
Now it is a showcase for the city's collection of classical antiquities, and they are right at home among the beautiful architecture modeled on the same period.
But don't expect a musty olde world museum, for in 2011 a new, modern display was created, taking in the Etruscans, Romans, Greeks and more. |
