Keramik museum

|
Berlin has a fine tradition of hand-crafted ceramics, celebrated in this museum.
The collection of artefacts on display derive largely from the 19th and 20th centuries, and include everything from miniature, detailed sculptures to mugs, decorative tiles and other homeware. The exhibits are supported by archive photographs and documents, which show how the art of ceramics developed in Berlin.
In all there are around 7000 pieces on display in the permanent exhibition, plus an annual programme of temporary exhibits. Not bad for an institution that started life in 1990 as a privately run labour of love. |
