Helmut Newton Foundation

|
Born in Berlin in 1920, Helmut Newton became known worldwide for his images of nudes.
But his work was about much more than people without their clothes, and it won him international acclaim and awards during his long career. He lived to see the opening of the foundation in his name, in 2004, but died later the same year.
The foundation houses a gallery representing Newton's photography, and also that of his wife June - herself a photographer who worked under the name Alice Springs.
Exhibitions featuring other artists are also planned, in line with Newton's own wish that the foundation should not be a 'dead museum'.
Open daily, with guided tours available every Sunday and Thursday. |
